Prior to joining Sinolytics, Ru-Tung worked as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology (DSET), where she conducted research on defence technology. She also interned at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS), focusing on technology and innovation policy.
Ru-Tung is currently pursuing a Master's degree through a dual programme between Sciences Po and the Free University of Berlin, specializing in international security and political science.
She also holds a BA in Political Science from National Taiwan University.
