Our Team

Martin Catarata, senior consultant and lead researcher geopolitics, is a seasoned policy researcher with a focus on geopolitical and geoeconomic competition between China and the US/EU. He has worked extensively on projects analyzing the impact of trade restrictions, industrial policy, and diversification measures on the manufacturing and supply chain operations of companies, with a special emphasis on the semiconductor and machinery industry.

Martin holds a M.A. in European and East Asian Governance and a  B.A. in Sinology and Political Science from Trier University. He studied Chinese language and political systems at Sichuan University.  Currently he is pursuing a PhD on China’s data governance regime advised by Prof. Heilmann.
